The Requirements To Get Married In Indonesia

August 05, 2018

Assalamu'alaikum

Ahojjj..
Jak se mate ? :) I hope you are all good.

Today I'm going to write about the requirements that you need to have to get married in Indonesia, actually I have posted about this topic in my previous post but its written in Bahasa Indonesia. And my husband suggested me to write it in English so maybe it could help people out there who are looking for this information.

I think this information it's not just for Czech who will get married in Indonesia, but for all foreigners in many countries. The requirements tend to be very similar either you will get married according to the Civil Registry (for Christian) or get married based on religion (for Muslim).

Ok here are the things that you have to own.

  • Czech ID Card (you just need to show them).
  • Passport (the original and the copy).
  • Visa (the original and copy) my husband applied for a social-cultural visa at the time.
  • Birth certificate (translated to Bahasa Indonesia and don't forget to copy).
  • Divorce Certificate for widow / divorced (translated to Bahasa Indonesia) if you are single you don't need it.
  • CNI from civil registry office in your country this paper explains everything about your status and it also explains that you don't have any problem to get married in Indonesia (legalized by the ministry of foreign affairs and then translate it to Bahasa Indonesia and the last you must go to Indonesian Embassy in your country and legalized it there), if you have no idea how does it look like, you can click this, there are three pictures in the post two of them are CNI and the last the permit from Embassy.
  • The permit from the Czech Embassy in Indonesia (you shouldn't translate this paper and you can get it also easily as long as you already have the CNI from your the civil registry office and you can get it for free just takes time 30 minutes in the embassy). Click this one also to see how does it look like.
  • Photograph separate 2 x 3 and 3 x 4 blue background, each of the 4 pieces.
  • A certificate of embracing Islam for converts (translated to Bahasa Indonesia) FYI you can convert also in the office of religious affairs (KUA) and get the certificate but you have to inform them before.

We prepared everything for a year because my husband wasn't living in Czech at the time, so he could just do it in summer holiday and his mother also helped him to get this birth certificate and CNI so its possible to ask your family to do it for you if have no time.

ah ya the last...

You must scan all the papers ASAP and send it to your fiancée/fiancé so they can send the papers to the office of religious affairs (KUA) or civil registry office before the big day.

I advise your partners to registry your marriages a month before. They should go to the KUA / CATATAN SIPIL whenever they have the new papers (scanned file) from you because if they do this the officer can inform them what else that's needed.

If you have any question just send me an email on ririyuliani16111995@gmail.com I will give you my WhatsApp number or my husband's, I would be so happy to help you.

May god makes everything easy :)

And this is The Indonesian Embassy's contact in Prague, I think you will need it.
